Sensory branding: why your brand has to taste good

Sensory branding: why your brand has to taste good

Sensory branding: your brand must taste good

Hey branding fans,

We always talk about experience, storytelling and emotionality. But many brands? They still look like basic toast.

Last week I was really deep into it again: sensory branding.

What does that mean? Building brands in such a way that they not only look good - but also tickle all the senses. See, feel, almost taste. 🤤

And that's exactly what makes the top brands so strong:
They don't just sell a product, but a feeling that you can almost taste.

🫦 rhode? Lip care that looks like an ice cream sundae. Pure summer vibes.

🍯 Gisou hair like liquid honey, packaging so juicy you almost want to spread it on toast.

🦁 Loewe? Turns fragrances into visual food experiences. Tomatoes that look like high-fashion campaigns.

The trick?
We don't just want to see, we want to feel. This play with texture, melting, fluidity - our brain loves it.

Why does this work?
Sensory stimuli make us curious, make us look longer and trigger emotions. And guess what: Emotions sell.

What do we learn from this?

✅ Stop just being "clean". Make your brand crave-worthy. Not every image has to be calm, you can also think in terms of campaigns, product-specific or seasons.

✅ Dare to push emotions. Even if it's messy or unexpected. That doesn't make your brand identity unprofessional.

✅ Create visual sensory impressions that stick. That creates emotion.

We at BoredBrands Studio have now gone even deeper:
In addition to branding & design, we now also offer in-house product photography. Last week we were able to shoot two brands that wanted exactly this sensory feeling. As soon as the products are launched, we'll show everything. 🤫

👉 Until then: For behind-the-scenes action, follow us on Instagram on our photo and video channel. @shot.by.boredbrandsstudio. At @boredbrandsstudio it's mainly about branding and design.

Conclusion:

Your brand doesn't just have to be beautiful. It has to be desirable.
Don't just be "nice to look at". Be juicy. Be memorable.

See you next week - stay brave, stay edgy, stay you.
